Small Business Saturday, held annually on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, celebrates and supports the small businesses that form the backbone of our nation's economy.
As major retailers dominate the Black Friday through Cyber Monday shopping period, we encourage you to support local businesses this weekend whenever possible. By choosing to shop locally, you reinvest in our community and help small businesses compete against the steep discounts and heavy advertising of large retailers.
This Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, we invite you to explore the charming and ever-expanding collection of locally-owned businesses in Downtown Waxhaw. You might just discover hidden gems, quality craftsmanship, and meaningful connections with passionate business owners.
Shopping locally benefits more than individual businesses; it creates a ripple effect of positive outcomes for our community. By supporting local establishments, we sustain jobs, preserve our town's unique character, and strengthen community connections.
Studies show that a higher percentage of money spent at local businesses remains within the community compared to chain stores or online retailers. This local circulation of funds creates a powerful multiplier effect, strengthening our local economy and contributing to the overall well-being of our community.
