Celebrate Independence Day with one of Waxhaw's favorite annual traditions!
Join us in Historic Downtown Waxhaw for the annual Independence Day Parade, featuring community organizations, local businesses, civic groups, decorated floats, classic cars, first responders, music, and plenty of patriotic spirit.
Bring your family, find a spot along the parade route, and enjoy a morning celebrating our community and our country.
Parade Route
The parade begins on NC-16 at McDonald Street, travels west along North Main Street, crosses Rehobeth Road, and returns east along South Main Street through Historic Downtown Waxhaw.
Parking
Free public parking is available throughout downtown, with several convenient Park & Walk locations within a short walk of the parade route.
Please review the attached parking map before arriving.
Road Closures
Roads along the parade route and NC-16/NC-75 through Downtown Waxhaw will close to all traffic beginning at approximately 9:45 a.m. and will remain closed until the parade has concluded.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking and finding a viewing location.
Please Note
• No parking is permitted along the parade route.
• The Town will not provide shuttle service for this year's event.
• ADA parking is available at the Waxhaw Woman's Club (200 E. South Main Street).
